Total Awesomeness for August

Totally buying this shirt on etsy, found it on Feministing.com this morning and I'm swooning a little bit for it!
Also on the menu for today some bitching over sushi places around town and why 6 Flags New England sucks.

To start- last Friday we went to Saratoga for sushi. I heard great things about Sushi Thai Garden and thought well heck, we're down here to see a band play lets eat in Saratoga as well. Took 30 minutes of driving around trying to find just a place to park for the night. Saratoga has great shops, food, music but fucking blows when it comes to places to park. I'd love to live there but would hate it at the same time. Finally parked what seemed like miles away (track season going on now too) we get to the restaurant and wait. And wait. And wait. We eventually get seated in the back room with no windows or ambiance, my bad since I thought we could just show up without reservations. Our waitress had the highest and squeekiest voice ever, but she was nice. But we only got one drink since no one ever was around for more than 2 seconds to get us a refill. The menu was really lacking sushi options, and there were no photos of the rolls so you were really guessing at what you were getting. Overall, they were ok but not amazing. Lack luster really. I would suggest that if you are in the area drive north to exit 18 and head to downtown Glens Falls. There on route 9, Glen Street, you will find Siam Thai Sushi. It. Is. AMAZING! The service is great, it's gold and beautiful inside, the women who work there are super nice and the menu is extensive with its options. Go, go there now and eat till they roll you out of there!

A place you DO NOT want to eat at, or breathe at really is 6 Flags New England. It smelled like vomit everywhere, even at 10:30 am when we first walked in when they opened the doors. If you're vegetarian forget it! Everything but the crap they called 'pizza' had meat or chicken in it. Say you try the cheese pizza....they cover it with french fries. Then charge you $10 for it. Bullshit. Then $3.50 for a bottle of water on the hottest day of the year. I'm done.

............ouch

So I fell on my ass in the middle of Target. The floors there are super slippery and I went down like a champ. Annie's Mac and Cheese boxes went flying, the PUR water filter broke part of my fall and the stupid size 7 flats are too tight that I bought. My elbow is super bruised, my hip hurts, and my ankle is slightly twisted. Nice. I had a crap program teaching 7th graders about teen pregnancy only to get one kid saying 'fag fag fag' to another which honestly is a great way to make my blood boil. Ugh! Tweens!

On the upside I'm swamped with prom dress and bridal orders! 20 yards of seersucker showed up for 5 dresses which will be super cute and Renee's prom dress that I'm just making up is going along swimmingly. I cannot wait to bellydance tomorrow night for a cancer survivor group and then hang out with the love of my life afterwards. I'm sure it will make up for my blowout yesterday in Target. Damn you Target and your slippery floors!

A great read and PR

I am in love with this book, as well as the site feministing.com. I am however getting more and more mad about some things that I really didn't think too much about before. But, Jessica Valenti has become quite the heroine to me (as well as Sarah Haskins, more on her later) and after reading her other book 'He's a Stud, She's a Slut' I was totally hooked.
Another thing that I'm in love with and am totally going to try my hand at is making a vintage style bathing suit. I SUCK at sewing stretch and lycra (horrible sweat shop experience back in the day) but I've ordered some custom made suits and they were not what I expected quality wise or fit wise. I did buy a cute little bikini from a new designer on etsy.com that I will totally post photos of when it comes in. Maybe this one will be of better quality and fit than the other one? I hope. I wasted over $200 on suits that don't fit this summer, I'm sure money could of gone other places. Not that I even swim, or tan......so why the hell am I buying all these?
And...........PROJECT RUNWAY IS ON AGAIN! I effing love this show, love it love it love it love it!
